On Tuesday, June 16, I had the privilege of meeting Roberto Bolle, international ballet star and new principal dancer for the American Ballet Company, at a book signing event on 57th and 5th. (For those of you who don't know who he is I have included his Gap ad and his Annie Lebovitz photo spread that appeared in an issue of Vanity Fair this year.)
Last night (June 26) I was then able to see him in action in the American Ballet Theater's performance of "Swan Lake." I have always loved listening to Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, and it gave me goosebumps to see it performed for the first time by Roberto Bolle and Veronika Part. Of course, the goosebumps may just have been my reaction to his prince-charming looks. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
